The Afghan security forces on Wednesday foiled 12 Taliban attacks in five districts of Ghazni province on Wednesday, provincial police chief Farid Mashal purported on Thursday.
According to Afghan's TOLO News, Mashal said that the security forces thwarted the attacks carried out by the Taliban in districts Qarabagh, Gelan, Khawja Omari, Andar and Muqor.
Nineteen Taliban militants were killed and six others were wounded in clashes with the security forces.
Furthermore, one policeman was killed and two others were wounded, the report said.
The Taliban has not commented on the report so far.
The Taliban fighters have ratcheted up attacks across the war-torn country against Afghan security forces and government officials ever since they announced their offensive in April.
Ghazni is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the southeastern part of the country.
