At least five Taliban militants were killed during a clash with police force members in Kandahar province.
Tolo News quoted Kandahar Police Chief General Tadin Khan as saying that the confrontation took place when Taliban militants attacked police soldiers in Maiwand district in Taimor area.
Three militants were also injured in the clash.
Khan added that three police force members were killed and one policeman was injured in the clash.
