Afghanistan is eagerly awaiting its debut in the ICC cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, as the side spends four weeks Down Under to prepare for the upcoming tournament.

Afghanistan has already participated in three T20 World tournaments in 2010, 2012 and 2014, but this is the first time the team will play in the 50 overs format.

Mohammad Nabi, captain of the side, said, "We and the whole nation are looking forward to the tournament. All Afghans want the team to play well in the World Cup. Our main objective as a team will be to acclimatize ourselves with the local conditions and get maximum advantage out of the tour."

14 teams will compete in the 2015 World Cup, which starts on February 14 and ends on March 29.
