ANI Kabul [Afghanistan]

Reacting to the alleged plans of the United States administration to outsource the war in Afghanistan, former Afghan president Hamid Karzai has said that if such step is taken, then the security situation in the country would get as worse as Iraq.

The former president office has said that outsourcing war management to a private firm would be against the sovereignty and the constitution of Afghanistan.

"Taking such a step would mean that the war will be prolonged and the killing of innocent civilians, women, and children will continue," Khaama Press quoted Karzai, as saying.

He further said that the past experiences have shown that such steps were not helpful, but rather had negative impacts.

Reportedly, this statement came after reports emerged that the U.S. administration may consider outsourcing the war management in Afghanistan to a private firm

Earlier, terming Afghanistan as 'a mess' that he took over from the previous administration, U.S. President Donald Trump had said that his administration is getting close to a decision on an updated strategy for the war in Afghanistan.
