Although African students are very few in number on all Indian campuses, they are powering a silent change in Indian sport.
At a recent sports event in G.D. Goenka University, people could clearly see the change with African students on the teams of two universities, Apeejay Stya University and G.D. Goenka University during basketball and violleball matches.
During Sportopia 2014, the students brought firepower, skill and stamina to the game, winning admiration of spectators and participating teams, where they dominated, bringing in subtle changes in the way these games are played in India.
943 sportsmen from 41 institutions took part in Sportopia 2014, while over 200 fiercely contested matches were held in ten disciplines.
