Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) CEO P Rao on Friday expressed happiness on the decision of GoAir to operate from Terminal 2 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and hoped that other airlines will join soon.

"We are very happy that GoAir took this decision to operate from here. We expect all airlines to come here and give relief to Terminal 1," Rao told ANI.

He said T2 is being operated to decongest T1 and added that they are planning to expand its capacity from 20 to 40 million.

"Once phase 3 operations of expansion are done, people will move back to T1 and then T2 will be demolished and T4 will come," he said.

The T2 will be opened on Sunday.

However, only GoAir has so far agreed to operate from there.
