Publishers and book sellers in Pakistan are refusing to sell a memoir authored by 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousufzai in the wake of a Tehreek-e-Taliban ban.

A major book selling firm of Peshawar cancelled its 'I am Malala' purchase order the day the Taliban decree was published by local newspapers, Dawn News reports.

A sales representative of the company said: "who can dare ignore their words, they will blow us up".

Massive killings in past few years have left people of Pakistan in a state of fear about Taliban threats.

Another bookseller in Islamabad, which winded up its business in Peshawar in 2011 under pressure from the Taliban, is also not selling Malala's book.
