The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that it's about time that the Congress leaders who have been accused in the AgustaWestland scam should come forward and confess their crime, as it is a fool proof case and there is no getting away this time.
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya told ANI, "It is a fool proof case, if Congress members come forward and confess their crime then the CBI and ED will not have to toil so hard.'
"The Italian Court gave its verdict it became clear that bribe was paid, who took that bribe there has to be someone who took the bribe. And the then UPA government tried to cover up this matter but now the Modi government wants an unbiased investigation. Moreover now the probe is happening in the right direction and the truth will surely come out," he added.
The Congress yesterday submitted a breach of privilege notice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in the Rajya Sabha for allegedly lying in connection with AgustaWestland scam.
The Congress had on Monday stalled the Rajya Sabha proceedings, blaming the BJP for using AgustaWestland as an election issue.
Prime Minister Modi on Sunday trained guns at Congress President Sonia Gandhi over the helicopter deal at election rallies in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, saying it was not the Indian government but a court in Italy that had named the Congress chief in verdict.
