Ahmad Naddaf, a senior secondary student from Nawakadal in Jammu and Kashmir, is passionate about inventing machines.

"My first innovation was when I was studying in fifth standard. I had made a fan that would help cure common cold. The fan helped to disperse the vapors of Vicks that provided relief to a blocked nose", said the proud innovator.

He added, "In the eighth standard, I built an inverter that could work for 30 hours after being charged for only 30 minutes. I believe that we can achieve anything that we want. If we do not apply our knowledge, then, it is as good as redundant".

Waseem's inventions can contribute to India's success and progress to a great extent, as they are cost effective and can be utilised in the everyday lives of the people.

The young mastermind emanates volumes of energy while talking about his journey.

"There is a saying, "Necessity is the mother of invention", I started innovating new items when I was in dire need of something. When I was young, my little brother could not consume medicines. At that point I thought of inventing a device that would convert tablets into syrups, which I call a micro mixer. It was approved by the National Innovation Foundation", said Waseem.

Talking about his other innovations, he added, "I invented a centrifugal mixer, which would enable us to check results of blood tests quickly. Whenever we went to a diagnostics lab, we could only get results after a minimum time period of two hours. However, sometimes, like in an emergency, we need the results immediately. So, I invented this machine which could be charged on solar power. It works for 16 hours after charging for only four hours. This machine has also been approved by the National Innovation Foundation in Ahmedabad".

Waseem believes that governments jobs are a thing of the past and youngsters should choose a career that gives them scope for creative thinking.

Youth are known for new ideas and these ideas when applied can change the lives of millions of people to a great extent.
