AIMIM workers attack Congress woman leader

Two All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) workers have allegedly attacked a woman Congress leader in Hyderabad's Saifabad, police said on Saturday.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Saifabad, Gopal Reddy said, "On 8 November late night we received a complaint from the woman leader stating that she along with her husband went to her friend's residence at Bilal Masjid, in Nampally area, when two people belonging to the AIMIM party abused her and later tore her burqa outraged her modesty.

A case has been registered under sections 354 and 355 r/w 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The police officials further said that they have also registered a case against the woman under section 506 of the IPC after they received a complaint from the other party alleging that the woman had abused and threatened them.

 

The woman, who had contested as corporator from Nampally in last Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections said, "I was passing through Bilal Masjid, Nampally area and I stopped at a residence to meet my friend, meanwhile few AIMIM party workers tried to enter into my friend's residence, I tried to confront them and requested them to not to come inside, they immediately started abusing me and they tore my burqa and pushed me down. They also molested me in front of everyone.
