Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns 'Empress' for Manish Malhotra at AICW Finale

The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned "Empress" for Manish Malhotra's finale collection called 'The Empress Story' at Amazon India Couture Week 2015 in the capital.

The show marked the completion of 25 years in the fashion industry for Malhotra and also 10 years of his fashion label.

Rai, who made a comeback on the ramp after a gap of 5 years, looked stunning in a chocolate brown floor length gown paired with a golden shimmery shrug.

Despite being under the weather, Bachchan stood by her words and walked the ramp for her designer friend. While interacting with media persons on the occasion former beauty queen spoke about her association with Malhotra and said, "I had to be here as I had committed to Manish long time ago and the pleasure is all mine. Manish is a very special person and I am sure you have heard this before in a lot of as professional's life but to me it's almost personal. I have known Manish right from the beginning."

 

Meanwhile, Manish thanked FDCI and Aishwarya for their support and said, "I think as I stand here on my second finale at the couture week, 25 years for costume's 10 years for label people like Sunil Sethi of FDCI to thank for all the support they are giving because I am from Mumbai and Delhi has become a second home. So thank you Delhi."

"Yeah today's show was really special because we also launching our label in London and another store in Dubai and when it comes to the empress story there is only one empress Aishwarya Rai," he added.

Known for his bridal wear, Malhotra's finale collection had everything for a contemporary bride, from flowy ball gowns to embellished glittering lehengas with trails of exquisite silk and intricate embroidery making each outfit a limited edition.
