Veteran Pakistani cricketer Saeed Ajmal, who is widely regarded as the world's best off-spinner, has said that he was disappointed to read Stuart Broad's comments over the legality of the bowler's actions.

Retired cricketer Michael Vaughan, who used to play for Yorkshire and England, had reportedly tweeted a picture of Ajmal, who is currently playing for county cricket club Worcestershire in England, in action during the game in which he took 13 wickets in their recent win against Essex.

Vaughn's tweet had prompted Broad to question the legitimacy of Ajmal's bowling action in his reply to the post.

Ajmal said that Broad's dig had hurt him the most, adding that one cannot expect such things from a fellow professional cricketer who is still playing cricket, Pak Passion reported.

Ajmal, who made his debut at the age of 30 against India in 2008 during the Asia Cup, said that it was disappointing to read Broad's comments, but added that they are dealing with it and they hope to get an explanation from the ECB about the comments.
