Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was frustrated of losing public support and hence out of desperation they were staging protests.

In the context of district administration in Varanasi denying him (Modi) permission for holding one of the two rallies here on Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said that even after the BJP was given alternate venues they did not relented and remained adamant.

"It is a matter of Election Commission to see. As far as I know they were given other places to conduct rallies and now they are frustrated because they have realized that they are not going to get any public support. It is they who used to make tall claims of winning many seats and now they have realized that they are not going to win more than 150 seats," Akhilesh Yadav said to ANI.

"Modi wants to get a visa in America and he wants to go there and he will not be seen anywhere after May 16," Akhilesh Yadav said in an apparent reference to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying in his rallies that come May the 16th it is he who will call the shots at the centre.
