Alan Alda is set to star in Fox 2000's 'The Longest Ride', which is an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks bestselling 2013 novel.
The film, who's scripting was done by Craig Bolotin, Brad Desch, Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, will be helmed by George Tillman Jr with Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen producing along with Theresa Park, Deadline.com reported.
The story follows a man who's trapped in a car crash on a remote road, and reflects on his life drifting in and out of consciousness, meanwhile, another romance between a young art history major and a handsome bull rider, takes place some few miles away.
The 78-year-old actor will play the injured man, where Jack Huston will play his younger version in the flashbacks, while Scott Eastwood and Oona Chaplin portray the other young couple.
