Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin came to Woody Allen's defense on Twitter after several actors expressed regret for working with the iconic filmmaker.

In a string of tweets, the 'Saturday Night Live' star shared his thoughts about actors speaking out about allegations that Allen molested his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow.

The actor, who has worked with Woody in 'Blue Jasmine' and 'To Rome With Love,' slammed the re-emergence of sexual-abuse allegations against the director, writing, "accusing people of such crimes should be treated carefully."

He wrote, "Woody Allen was investigated forensically by two states (NY and CT) and no charges were filed. The renunciation of him and his work, no doubt, has some purpose. But it's unfair and sad to me. I worked with WA 3 times and it was one of the privileges of my career."

Baldwin argues that sexual abuse complaints should never be dismissed, but he said accusations should also be "treated carefully."

"Is it possible to support survivors of pedophilia and sexual assault/abuse and also believe that WA is innocent? I think so. The intention is not to dismiss or ignore such complaints. But accusing people of such crimes should be treated carefully. On behalf of the victims, as well," noted Baldwin.

Baldwin's comments arrive after more actors have expressed regret over working with Allen.

Timothee Chalamet announced on Instagram that he will be donating his salary from his work on the upcoming Allen film A Rainy Day in New York to three charities - Time's Up, the LGBT Center in New York and RAINN, an anti-sexual violence organization.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Hall also announced she would donate her salary from the film to Time's Up last week.

Allen's estranged daughter, Dylan Farrow, renewed molestation allegations against him in 2014, claiming that the filmmaker sexually assaulted her after he and actress Mia Farrow adopted her when she was 7.

Allen, vehemently denied the claims, was investigated but never prosecuted.
