England batsman Alex Hales believes that his team need to play a 'fearless' brand of cricket in order to compete with the top-ranked teams in the world.

England suffered a disastrous World Cup campaign as they were eliminated from the pinnacle tournament following a 15-run defeat against Bangladesh.

The 26-year-old opener, who has played nine matches, said that the biggest thing he had learned from the World Cup was to play their cricket with no fear.

Hales further said that as a team they have got to get rid of that mentality completely and attack in the middle overs, and have no fear of failure, the BBC reported.

The right-handed batsman added that none of the top-four best teams of the World Cup had any fear in their cricket.
