The African nations of Algeria and Ghana have secured their tickets for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Rio, Brazil on Tuesday following wins over Burkina Faso and Egypt respectively.

Algeria has sealed their fifth and final African zone World Cup qualifying berth by beating Burkina Faso 1-0 in their World Cup play-off second leg on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate draw.

With the qualification of Algeria, who got the goal they needed in the 49th minute through skipper Madjid Bougherra, it is the same line-up of teams who represented Africa at 2010 in South Africa - Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Ghana.

Meanwhile, the report mentioned that Ghana has qualified for a third successive World Cup, securing their ticket to Brazil with a 7-3 aggregate win over Egypt despite losing the African zone play-off return leg in Cairo 2-1 as they had already done enough in last month's first leg in Kumasi, routing Egypt 6-1.
