Heavyweight boxing legend Muhammad Ali's infamous 'phantom punch' gloves, which he was wearing when he controversially knocked out Sonny Liston, along with those of his opponent, have fetched close to a million dollars at an auction in New York.
Ali, who was then known as Cassius Clay, struck down his opponent after two minutes of the first round in a rematch in 1965 in Maine, the Independent reported.
Ali's punch was so quick that many questioned whether it had landed at all, and there were some suggestions of a fix.
An anonymous bidder bought the gloves for 9,56,000 dollars, the report added.
