Putting all speculations to rest, Alia Bhatt announced her next film, which is titled 'Inshallah'. The movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali would see Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan in lead role.
This is the first time that the two actors would be seen together on screen.
Expressing excitement, Alia Bhatt tweeted, "Dream with your eyes wide open they say & I did. Sanjay Sir and Salman Khan are magical together & I can't wait to join them on this beautiful journey called "Inshallah" #Inshallah #SLB @BeingSalmanKhan @bhansali_produc @SKFilmsOfficial @prerna982."
In another tweet she mentioned how nervous she was when she visited Bhansali's office at the age of 9 and how long she has waited to work with him. "I was 9 when I first walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office, all nervous and hoping and praying that I would be in his next film. It's been a long wait."
Salman Khan took to twitter, "It's been 20 years but I am glad Sanjay and I are finally back in his next film, Inshallah. Looking forward to work with Alia and inshallah we will all be blessed on this journey.#Inshallah #SLB @aliaa08 @bhansali_produc @SKFilmsOfficial"
Salman Khan would be reuniting with Bhansali after a gap of 20 years. However, he did a cameo appearance in the 2007 release Saawariya, which Bhansali directed. The duo have done movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Khamoshi: The Musical. Their last film as a team was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, which was released in 1999.
