She started as the diva in 'Student of the Year,' then went on to be the rural Bihari girl in 'Udta Punjab' and a girl from Uttar Pradesh in her last release 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania.' Now, Alia Bhatt is all set to play a Kashmiri girl in Meghna Gulzar's upcoming movie 'Raazi'.
Filmmaker Karan Johar took to Twitter to confirm the news and also shared some details of her role.
He wrote, "ALIA BHATT In #Raazi...produced by @DharmaMovies and @JungleePictures ...directed by @meghnagulzar AND welcome aboard @vickykaushal09."
The movie is based on Harinder Sikka's novel titled 'Calling Sehmat'.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the news and shared some details of Alia's role in the movie.
He tweeted, "Alia Bhatt to enact the part of a Kashmiri girl married to a Pakistani army officer [Vicky Kaushal] in the espionage thriller #Raazi..."
The film will be shot in Punjab and Kashmir in a start-to-finish schedule from July, followed by a small schedule in Mumbai.
