New Zealand rugby coach Steve Hansen has said he believes his team can still improve from their performances in 2013.

According to Sport24, Hansen said that from a performance point of view, his team was nowhere near perfect and there are still a lot of things that they have got to go away and work on.

New Zealand's Kieran Read, the most prolific No.8 in the history of the game with 15 tries in 61 internationals, was justifiably picked as the IRB player of the year, the report said,.

His honour capped a hat-trick of awards for New Zealand who picked up the team of the year gong while Steve Hansen was named coach of the year, the report added.

IRB chairman Bernard Lapasset said that New Zealand seems to reach new levels of excellence every year.

The All Blacks also won the Rugby Championship while Hansen's record in two years as All Blacks coach is a remarkable 25 wins, one draw and one defeat, which was against England, the report further said.
