The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a statement stating that all Kendriya Vidyalayas affiliated to its board will remain closed on December 25.
"CBSE has not directed any school to remain open on 25th December. All Kendriya Vidyalayas will remain closed on December 25, and the students can take part in online essay competition if they desire," the statement said.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy earlier said it has been decided in the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting that a number of programmes will be held on 'Good Governance Day', which is to be observed on former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth anniversary on December 25.
The Centre had earlier this month declared that ' Good Governance Day' will be observed on Vajpayee's birthday on December 25.
