South Africa national bowling coach Allan Donald has predicted very little change in the Test team's lineup, saying that the team will pick itself ahead of a busy Test season.
According to Sport24, Donald expressed confidence that stalwarts Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander would continue producing the results, which took South Africa to the summit of the ICC's Test rankings, despite the entry of numerous young players in the team.
Defending South Africa's Test rankings, Donald said that it was a motivating factor to keep the side performing, adding that their challenge now is to maintain their position as the top Test team in the world, which, he said, is not pressurising them in any way.
The former pace bowler also said that the standards set by their team has awarded them the position, adding that going down 4-1 in an one-day series against Sri Lanka provided a good indication of where South Africa was lacking.
Meanwhile, Donald further said that Steyn, the spearhead of the South African attack, would play a key role in the forthcoming Pakistan tour, which includes two Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20s from October 14th - November 15th in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
