West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce admitted that his team couldn't deal with the long ball tactics adopted by Manchester United in a 1-1 draw at Upton Park.

Following a goalless first-half, Cheikhou Kouyate put West Ham ahead in the 49th minute through a sublime volley.

Subsequently, West Ham squandered their advantage as Daley Blind secured a late equalizer for Van Gaal's team in the 93rd minute.

In the light of his team's performance, Allardyce said that in the end they couldn't cope with the long balls as United kept putting in the box, adding that Van Gaal's men adopted 'thump it forward and see' tactic, which paid off for them, the BBC reported.

The draw leaves Manchester United in fourth place, one point back of Southampton, while West Ham remain at 8th position in the Premier League table.
