Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has said that the legal process must be allowed to play itself out in the sexual harassment case involving Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal.
In a statement issued here, Tewari said: "The alleged incident is unfortunate. There is a legal process which is playing itself out."
"It should be allowed to reach its logical conclusion. It is incumbent upon all concerned to cooperate with legal processes and procedure," he added.
Meanwhile, Goa Police has filed a case against Tejpal in connection with the sexual assault case.
The case accuses Tejpal of attempt to rape and outraging the modesty of a woman journalist employed with Tehelka. The state police has sent a team to Delhi to interrogate Tejpal.
Minister of State for Home Affairs R.P.N. Singh has said his ministry has asked the Goa Government to provide details of the Tejpal case.

Addressing media in Jaipur, Singh said that after receiving details from the Goa Government, appropriate action will be taken by the Centre against Tejpal, if required.
Tejpal has offered the fullest cooperation to the police, but at the same time, maintains that he has apologized for his misconduct as demanded by the victim.
