Ferrari racer Fernando Alonso has reportedly admitted that their team's lack of competitiveness is 'not good' as he and his teammate Kimi Raikkonen finished ninth and 10th at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday.

Alonso said that they would like their cars to have extra speed and to be able to battle with anyone.

However, with Ferrari's lack of traction, heavy tyre usage and poor straight-line speed, Alonso said that at the moment it seems that his team misses on that aspect, the BBC reported.

Alonso said that Ferrari has got some strong points that some other circuits will show.

Meanwhile, Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo reportedly admitted that it was 'painful' to watch his team struggle so badly and said that he does not like watching Ferrari in this condition.

Di Montezemolo said that although he did not expect much from this race, but he did expect a bit more than this adding that the engine people at the factory need to work to make a big leap forward in quality.

However, Alonso slipped only one place to fourth in the drivers' standings despite the poor performance and is currently 35 points behind leader Nico Rosberg of Mercedes, the report added.
