Amanda Bynes' parents, who are "sick with worry", are now considering getting a conservatorship over their troubled daughter, it has been revealed.

According to courthouse insiders at the Ventura County Courthouse in Oxnard, Rick and Lynn will appear before the judge on Friday to ask for a temporary conservatorship of their daughter, Radar Online reported.

Bynes' parents want control of her personal and financial affairs.

A source told the publication that under California law, the proposed conservator must show that the conservatee is unable to care for themselves, and is a danger to others.

But, Bynes' parents are hopeful that the judge will take into consideration that she tried to start a fire in a stranger's driveway, and burned her pants in the process.
