'Amaravati Declaration for Women Empowerment' to be released in October

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasad Rao on Wednesday said that the Amaravati Declaration for Women Empowerment (ADWE) will be released in the second week of October.

It is decided that the declaration meeting will be held at A-1 Convention Centre, Vijayawada for three hours, that is, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be organised on any day between 10th to 14th October.

Rao said that the National Women's Parliament had adopted a resolution, christened as Amaravathi Declaration for Women Empowerment" on the last day of the three-day international Women Parliament conference, held at the Krishna-Godavari confluence, near here in February 2017.

 

Four guests along with Chief Minister will be addressing the meeting.

Names of various guests include; Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani; Biocon chairperson Kiran Majumdar, Nobel peace prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, Apollo Hospitals Joint Managing Director Sangeeta Reddy, Reliance Foundation chairperson Neeta Ambani, SBI Chief Arundhati Bhattacharya, ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar etc.

It is decided that along with prominent people from politics, education and industries; representatives of NGOs, ANMs, Anganwadi and DWCRA groups also be invited for the program.

The event will be conducted by a private organisation under the monitoring of senior government officials.
