Following a leaked audio tape suggesting Congress veteran Ajit Jogi's alleged involvement in a secret deal to benefit the BJP in an election in Chhattisgarh, his son Amit Jogi on Wednesday said he would file an FIR under the IT Act with the Cyber Crime division of the Bilaspur Police to unmask the conspirators active against his family.
"Charges levelled against my father are baseless, and the basis on which the allegations are made are baseless too. The audio-recording of which they are talking about is totally doctored and fabricated, and having no evidential value," claimed Amit Jogi.
"This is not for the first time that such allegations have been levelled against my family, as two and a half years ago when there was an incident in the Darbha Valley, my father and family were dragged into it by BJP leaders, two of whom are now union ministers now - Narendra Tomar and J.P. Nadda. Even then, we had filed a defamation suit. Those allegations were not proved thus far," he added.
Stating that these allegations have suddenly cropped up, he sought to know why such charges are being levelled against his family.
"My father and I are going around place and getting an overwhelming response from the people, and thus, these allegations have cropped up after one and a half years. The people who are behind this conspiracy must come forward," he added.
