A meeting between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah and People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti to discuss government formation in Jammu and Kashmir is currently underway in the national capital.
After the meeting, an announcement on the state government formation is likely to be made.
Mehbooba on Monday stressed on the need for 'mutual understanding' between the two parties ahead of the government formation.
"When two sides come together for the formation of a government, there are many things on which the sides need to have a mutual understanding to make a common minimum programme," Mufti had said.
The PDP and BJP have been in talks over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir ever since the results of the assembly polls in December threw up a hung assembly.
In the assembly elections PDP emerged as the single largest party but fell short of the number of seats required to make the state government.
