Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday participated in the 'Swacch Bharat' campaign in Mumbai.
During the event, Shah urged all BJP workers to make this cleanliness drive a mass movement.
"Till now, no government or political party has focused to turn the cleanliness drive into a mass movement. I would like to urge all BJP workers to make this cleanliness drive a mass movement," said Shah.
"When the entire nation is paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. The Prime Minister has appealed to all the social workers, the religious organizations and the political parties to make this campaign a success and clean the country by 2019," Shah added.
He further said, "All of us must work towards making Prime Minister's initiative of clean India and clean Ganga campaigns a success."

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi officially launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' from Rajpath, he also administered Swachh Bharat pledge and flagged-off Swachh Bharat walkathon.
The 'Swachh Bharat' campaign that has been launched nationwide focuses on sanitation, hygiene and waste management.
The launch was preceded by cleanliness campaign week beginning September 25 which saw central government offices being spruced up by discarding or overhauling old furniture and sending old files to record rooms.
