South Africa batsman Hashim Amla has claimed that they have moved on from the disappointing loss to India in Melbourne last Sunday, and insisted that they are looking ahead to the important match against the West Indies in Sydney on Friday.

South Africa lost by 130 runs to India in their World Cup group stage tie at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Amla claimed that the squad picked themselves up after their disappointing loss to India, and have now shifted their focus to the challenge ahead at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sport24 reported.

Amla said that they are obviously disappointed, as they didn't play good cricket. He added that the format of this tournament is such that one has to move on, and insisted that that's how they look at it.

The opener accepted that they made a few mistakes but the game is done and dusted and they certainly want to look ahead to the important match on Friday.

He insisted that there is no need to panic and backed his experienced teammates to take the lessons learnt into the remainder of their group matches.

Amla said that they have to give credit to India, as they posted a good score and batted quite well. He admitted that with the bat, South Africa didn't manage to string big partnerships to get them close and lost wickets at key times.

The batsman said that it hasn't happened often in the last few years; getting bowled out for 160, so he added that they have to brush it off, take the knock on their chin and move on to the next game.

South Africa would now face the West Indies, who lost 4-1 to AB de Villiers' men during their series at home last month, the report added.
