South Africa is reportedly likely to miss veteran batting star Hashim Amla during the second Test against Pakistan in Dubai after the world's number one Test batsman left for home on Friday to attend the birth of his second child.
According to Sport24, a South Africa team statement said that Amla's wife is expected to give birth soon for which the batsman flew back to South Africa on Friday morning.
The report mentioned that South Africa would not add a player to the current squad despite the absence of Amla, who made 118 in the first Test, which Pakistan won by seven wickets on Thursday.
Although it is yet unclear whether or not Amla will make it back in time for the second Test starting in Dubai from October 23, the batsman however, said that his team would be ready for the Test as they are a fantastic side and have realised what went wrong during the first Test.
Amla further said that the team was hurt and disappointed at the loss as they had set high standards for themselves.
