South African opening batsman Hashim Amla has warned his side to be wary of a rejuvenated West Indies squad, labeling them as an explosive team ahead of their crucial World Cup encounter on Friday in Sydney.

South Africa claimed a far from convincing win over Zimbabwe in their World Cup opener before suffering a humiliating 130-run defeat against defending champions last week in Melbourne.

Describing West Indies as an explosive side, Amla said that the West Indies were a dangerous team and one could never take them for granted, adding that they could produce games where they fire, and they had a lot of match-winners in their team, Sport24 reported.

The opening batsman, who is yet to fire in the tournament, added that they were going to be treating them with the respect that they treat all teams.

On the other hand, West Indies suffered a four-wicket defeat against Ireland in their World Cup opener in Nelson but came back strongly to clinch a massive 150-run victory over Pakistan before humbling Zimbabwe by 73 runs.
