Two Japanese airlines have decided to disregard China's new air defence zone rules, following a government request not to implement Chinese Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
All Nippon Airlines (ANA) and Japan Airlines have said that they will stop filing flight plans on the routes that was setup on Saturday through the disputed airspace zone as demanded by China, the BBC reports.
Earlier, both the airlines had been informing China's aviation authorities of flights through the zone since the weekend.
However, Singapore Airlines and Qantas said that they will abide by the new rules.
Japan disregarded China's new air defence identification zone, which included disputed Senkaku islands, for being illegal, the report added.
China had asked the airlines entering the zone to obey its rules, including providing a flight plan, maintaining two-way radio communications and clearly identifying their nationality.
China's Defence Ministry warned aircrafts of being subjected to defensive emergency measures for ignoring the rules.
