Corey Anderson produced an all-round performance to help New Zealand claim a 95-run win in the third and the final T20 match against Pakistan and, thereby clinched the three-match series 2-1 here at Westpac Stadium on Friday.
Opting to bat first, New Zealand posted an imposing 197-run target for Pakistan, thanks to Anderson's quick-fire knock of 82 not out. The swashbuckling southpaw smashed six boundaries and four sixes in his 42-ball innings.
Earlier, opener Martin Guptill provided the initial thrust by blasting 42 off just 19 deliveries, while captain Kane Williamson made 33.
In reply, Pakistan lost wickets at regular junctures as they were bundled out for mere 101 runs despite some resistance by wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz Ahmed (41).
For the hosts, Adam Milne and Grant Elliott bagged three wickets each while Anderson, who was adjudged as the Man of the Match, claimed two wickets for his side.
The trio were well supported by swing specialist Trent Boult who also chipped in with a wicket.
The two sides will now head into the three-match ODI series, starting from January 25 in Wellington.
