Andrew Flintoff may have conquered the world of sports, but the cricketer is still a scaredy cat when it comes to the dark.

The 37-year-old former England cricket captain confessed that he developed the fear of darkness as a kid, and used to have nightmares and sleepwalking issues, the Daily Star reported.

The 6ft 4in tall sportsman said that he was battling it out slowly, but since he has three kids with wife Rachael namely Holly, 10, Corey, 8, and Rocky, 6, it gives him a reason to leave the lights on.

Flintoff had retired from cricket aged 32 in 2010 following an injury.
