Angelina Jolie's Oscar contender 'Unbroken", which will be screened for media and other VIPs this week, has been cut by Universal for being "too arthouse".
The war film follows the true story of American Olympic runner Louis Zamperini, who later became a prisoner of war in a Japanese camp and has been screened in Australia and the UK, the New York Post reported.
According to sources, Universal took control and edited the film into a more commercial one.
The film and will be unveiled in New York this week, including a Tuesday screening at MoMA followed by a Q andA with director Jolie and her cast as part of the museum's The Contenders series.
