Anne Hathaway has confirmed through a rep that she is not pregnant at the moment.
The rep said that her brother's joke had been misinterpreted.
The 30-year-old actress' rep claimed that the joke her brother had said was that one day his sister will have a baby, and he will then be Uncle Tom, Us magazine reported.
He said this as a reference made to Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 anti-slavery epic Uncle Tom's Cabin-during a standup comedy show in Brooklyn, N.Y.
According to Star, Hathaway's brother had let her pregnancy slip.
