Actresses Annette Bening, Greta Gerwig and Elle Fanning have been roped in for the Annapurna Pictures movie '20th Century Women.'
The film, written and directed by Mike Mills, is based on real life people the director knew, and is set in 1979 Santa Barbara, Deadline.com reported.
Bening will play the character of Dorothea Fields, a mother trying to raise her rebellious teenage son, Jamie, Gerwig will play the role of a sophisticated photographer, Abbie, who is submersed in the punk culture of the time, and Fanning is set to play Julie, a young, smart and secretively provocative friend of Jamie, who poses a challenge to Dorothea.
Filming is set to begin in Southern California later this year.
