The Anni Dewani murder trial has taken a new twist after experts reportedly retrieved a text message sent by the slain bride to her cousin revealing that she had sex with Shrien Dewani "five times" in one night.

According to Mirror, the message to her cousin could hinder the prosecution's case that 33-year-old Shrien arranged her murder to cover his homosexuality.

The experts retrieved the message from 28-year-old Anni's BlackBerry that was stolen by killer Xolile Mngeni when he shot her dead in South Africa in 2010.

Meanwhile, the prosecution at the Indian-origin British businessman Dewani's upcoming trial are reportedly planning to argue in court that Dewani hired a hitman to finish off his wife because he was secretly gay and wanted out of marriage.

A source said that while police have always said the motive for Dewani was that he wanted to get out of the marriage without having to admit he is gay, the fact Anni told her cousin they were having sex regularly severely damages that argument.
