Annie Lennox has described the sexualised imagery of modern pop videos as "dark" and "pornographic" and has demanded that they be rated just like films.

Lennox told BBC Radio 5 live that she supports the freedom of expression, but the current pop videos are realm of porn.

The 58-year-old singer said that it's difficult to stop the kids from getting exposed to those videos as they are very powerful, and no one wants to see their seven-year-old girls twerking.

The 'Into The West' hitmaker said that parental pressure could help in establishing "very clear boundaries" on acceptable standards in videos.

Lennox said that she has nothing against the artists as she has never bashed them.

She asserted that there was nothing wrong with sexuality and sensuality and she thinks these artists are beautiful, as what they do is fantastic but needs to be age-appropriate.

Lennox had earlier posted on Facebook that if a pop star creates "a soft porn video or highly sexualised live performance, then it needs to qualify as such and be X-rated for adults only.
