Another ceasefire violation by Pakistan

This is the latest in the series of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops.

ANI Shahpur (Jammu and Kashmir)

Pakistani troops reportedly violated the ceasefire again on Tuesday morning, in Shahpur District of Jammu and Kashmir.

A local resident of the area, Shehzad told ANI, "The firing started at the border area around eleven in the morning. We were engaged in our daily work and suddenly firing started. We got scared and the firing was initiated by the other side. Then our army answered back."

"All this creates a lot of tension for us. We can't work or go anywhere without tension. I am a student and it hampers my studies," he added.

A shopkeeper in the area, Zakir Hussain, told ANI, "The firing started around 10.30 am from the other side, and then our army replied back. These ceasefire violations create many problems for us, our school children and animals."

This is the latest in the series of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops.

Earlier, Lieutenant General K H Singh had said that the Indian army is giving a befitting reply to Pakistani troops over the ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts from across the border.

"I would like to assure you all that the ceasefire violations around this time generally increases because of the undergrowth, because of the situation in Pakistan and also because of the upcoming elections. But is quite normal compared to last year," he had said.
