Anthony Mackie wants to play the four-time Olympic gold medalist Jesse Owens in an upcoming film.
The 35-year-old 'The Captain America: The Winter Soldier' actor is producing the project with his 'We Are Marshall' writer Jamie Linden and Jason Spire from Inspire Entertainment, which was scripted by George Olson under their supervision, Deadline.com reported.
The feature will focus on the 1936 games, where Owens was the most successful athlete impacting the world deeply with his performance, for which he had been credited for single-handedly crushing Adolf Hitler's myth of Germans being the superior race.
The project will begin filming later this year in Germany.
