Nearly 10 people have died and 45 churches have been set on fire amid violent protests in Niger over French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo's cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, a report said.
Authorities said that hotels and bars were also burnt to the ground, reported the BBC.
In the wake of attacks, the government has declared three days of mourning for those who died.
The violence followed the killing of 12 people at Charlie Hebdo's Paris office earlier this month.
The new cover of the magazine's latest edition, published after the attack, featured a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad weeping while holding a sign saying "I am Charlie."
It has elicited widespread criticism from many living in Muslim-majority countries who accuse the magazine's editors of being unnecessarily provocative.
