Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Friday said that the recent unfurling of the flag of the dreaded Islamic State in the Valley was carried out by 'anti-nationals' who want media attention.
"Anti-nation people want to grab media attention. This incident should not be given much attention. The required legal action will be taken," Nirmal Singh told the media.
Earlier in the day, the IS flag was waved at a rally at the Jama Masjid in the Nowhatta area of Srinagar. After the black flag was unfurled, cries of 'Jeeve Jeeve Pakistan' were also heard.
Those in the rally later blocked the road leading to the mosque and took to stone pelting, targeting nearby security forces.
