Cheap alcohol drink from Scotland, Buckfast tonic known as 'Buckie,' will be sold in cans during the summer barbecue season.
The alcoholic drink, which is 15 percent alcohol and is highly caffeinated, is produced by Benedictine monks at Buckfast Abbey in Devon, Metro.co.uk reported.
According to the BBC, almost 6,500 crime reports in the Strathclyde area of Scotland cited Buckfast drink between 2010 and 2012.
The glass bottles of the drink have been known to be used as weapons and the streets of most Scottish towns and cities are littered with it.
The Scottish Government had earlier approached Buckfast to stop using glass bottles and to sell it in smaller units.
The distributors, J Chandler and Company, stated that if successful they will look to move to permanently selling the drink in the can form.
