QPR star Anton Ferdinand has avoided jail for speeding while he was stopped from driving by bringing his mother into the picture.
According to the Sun, Anton was caught by caps going at a speed of 43 mph in a 30 mph zone while serving a 56-day ban on driving in central London but he responded by saying that he had no idea about the restriction because his mum Janice had done the paperwork.
However, Ferdinand, who belongs to Nottingham in South East London, admitted to the charges of driving while banned, speeding and no insurance, getting a fine of 4,600 pounds and an year's road ban.
The player told the magistrates that if he knew he was disqualified he would never have driven while his mum told the court that she was not notified of her son's driving ban for an earlier offence.
Magistrate Victoria Fraser expressed that she wanted to re-iterate how Ferdinand was lucky in his sentencing.
