Global banking major, ANZ has disclosed plans to route its online inquiry services from India, putting customers' banking details into the hands of staff in Bangalore.
More information from the company's insiders has revealed that the bank is also planning to send hundreds of its IT jobs overseas along with sending its eTeam services work to India where the bank's email inquiries made by Australian customers will be answered, Herald Sun reports.
Confirming the development, ANZ spokesman Stephen Ries stated that no jobs would be lost in Melbourne as a result of the increase in staff numbers in Bangalore.
Even though Ries admitted that 100 jobs were lost in the IT department last year, he said there were no plans of any further redundancies, adding that staff in Bangalore would be subject to the same strict privacy requirements as the staff in Australia.
