Apple is reportedly set to ship its new range of low-cost iPhones to the world's biggest mobile carrier, China Mobile.

The company is expected to unveil the new version of its flagship iPhone in the coming week, which would also include a cheaper version, 5C, to compete with rival Samsung who is known to provide affordable yet popular technology.

According to news.com.au, Apple has been trying for years to strike a deal with China Mobile, who has 740 million subscribers.

Apple's new deal with the mobile carrier is expected to boost its seventh position in the Chinese smartphone market and bring it ahead of Samsung which enjoys a greater market share.
